Captain Plan It

How do you plan your goals?

Did you watch this cartoon back in the ‘90s? Were you already around in the ‘90s?😂 Anyway, I’ve never been the wing-it kind of person. I’ve had to train myself to be more spontaneous or, more accurately, not to freak out when presented with a last-minute anything. I only bothered because I had children and I thought I should be more flexible for them; otherwise, I’d have been perfectly fine with my stick-in-the-mud ways.

I’m the type of person who needs to have goals to be comfortable, and then I need to have concrete plans to carry them out. Without goals and plans, I’d be pure aimless chaos.

Gotta have plans. Comprehensive, extensive, and written out. Usually in a list. I thrive on lists. I find it easier to function with lists. In fact, I’d been bullet journaling way before it became a thing. Don’t you hate it when something you like becomes a popular trend? Do you also go around mentally accusing everybody of being a poseur? That’s just me? Oh well. 😂

In any case, I need a planner to organize my day, week, month, and year. That’s the kind I get. Anything less simply wouldn’t serve.

I journal as well. I don’t do anything too fancy. I don’t go all out making collages for every entry. I just write my thoughts and document things that are worth recording.

Of course I have a lot of notebooks. They’re for all those lists I make. Back in the day, I used to write stories in them too. Now I have to do it in the computer.🙄 Did you know, dreaming of becoming a writer as a kid, I thought I’d end up working on a typewriter. Anyway…

This is basically how I plan so that I can do. But I can only plan so much. I try not to get gung-ho about efficient planning since God has a way of derailing the agenda when he has something else in mind. Thankfully, you can count on it being the better plan.
