I’m fascinated by many people from the past. I actually like obscure ones, the ones not many knew about. I’m naturally intrigued by the mysterious characters. For instance, I find Tesla (Gnarly!) interesting.
I also tend to like the romantic figures. I don’t mean the Don Juans like Casanova. I mean people like Thoreau, who had romantic notions and actually attempted to live out their ideals.
Still, as far as favorites go, nobody beats Jesus Christ. Even if I wasn’t a Christian, I would be very fascinated by his story. He’s not the only one who ever claimed to be God, but He’s the only one who had witnesses and prophesies backing up His claim. And He was so cool, a real maverick, but, of course, so much more than that.
As far as historical data go, there’s more evidence of His existence than, say, Aristotle, and yet people just take it for granted that the philosopher was real while calling Jesus mythical.
