Small Life Thrills

Daily writing prompt
What are you passionate about?

After my family and faith, I think it’s pretty easy to tell which things I’m passionate about.

Books – I’ve been a voracious reader since I was a little kid. Not do I only love to read, but I love to collect books as well. I’ve been adding to my hoard for almost four decades now.

Cats – I don’t understand people who are not crazy about cats. I mean, how can you not be smitten? I love dogs and other animals too, but I’m decidedly a cat person. And, no, I don’t hoard cats. I currently have eight, but that’s it. We’re not getting anymore for the time being.

Plants – They just make a place fresher and livelier. Gardens are places of life and loveliness. Technically, I’ve always wanted to homestead, so I used to focus on edibles. Flowers and produce were my goal, but when the pandemic happened and everybody was suddenly a plantita, I discovered the joy of displaying and collecting ornamentals.

Autism – I have kids on the spectrum, so I’m obsessed with finding ways to make life better and easier for them. I also want to understand the condition as much as I can. You can read more about my thoughts on autism in the article below.

Cozy stuff – I love the cozy vibe, so this means a lot of hygge, cottagecore, and other cozy cultures. That’s why I read books, cuddle with cats, and fellowship with plants. I also love gloomy days, homemade treats, warm blankets, fuzzy socks… you get the idea. I like being cozy in my small life.

BTS – The boys are back! Except for Yoongi , who will be joining them soon! I’m beyond thrilled.
